Hi Everyone,
I have volantered to be our blogger for this trip, although I hope that you all will
give a hand and write a few comments as well.
Next Sunday we will all meet for the first time. I am really looking forward to meeting you all, and the Captain and his crew.
In Denmark we have very very nice easter weather with app 17 degrees celcius, and hopefully we will be able to bring some of the nice wather with us, because I have seen the weatherforecast from Gotland, Uusikaupunki and Helsinki, and it seems a pit cold :-) but as my old grandmother says: " There is nothing called bad weather, just bad clothing" hmmmm, maybe she is right.
Never the less I think we will have an unforgetable trip.
C U soon
This is the blog of the wind and water expedition from Kiel to Uusikaupunki on the schooner Helena, from 19 to 29 April, 2009. The journey is organized by EDDA Norden. See: www.eddanorden.net

ReplyDeleteHi everyone!
ReplyDeleteGreat that Helena is sailing again! We will have then good time to prepare
ourselves in Kiel before monday midday.
Let's meet at 10.00 anyway and start getting to know each other. I suggest
that we meet in the harbour where Helena is supposed to dock when she
comes - just in case someone doesn't know about the delay and has already
started to travel towards Kiel. Then we can decide the program: spend some
hours with artistic working / discussion / rope school / sailing theory
etc., take our stuff to the hostel and take some time for tourism as well.
Does someone know Kiel and what there might be interesting for us?
I have sent an inquiry for another hostel for our group to stay from
sunday to monday, because the one Jan has suggested earlier seems to be
full (according to the net booking system) I hope to get that fixed
tomorrow, before taking the cargo ship from Helsinki in the afternoon.
(there I think it's hard to organize that). I'll let you know about the
accomodation as I hear from them!
So fun to see you all soon!
Best greetings from chilly Helsinki - Mari
